Chicken 555 (Indian - Appetizer) Recipe

Spicy and crispy fried chicken dish made with marinated chicken, spices, and curry leaves. Chicken 555 is a popular appetizer and snack, especially in South Indian cuisine.
Ingredients:
  • Chicken - 1.1lb (500g)
  • Red Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Garam Masala Powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tbsp
  • Curry Leaves - 10
  • All-Purpose Flour - 1 cup
  • Corn Flour - 1/4 cup
  • Salt - to taste
  • Oil - for frying
Instructions
  • In a large mixing bowl, add the chicken along with red chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, ginger garlic paste, curry leaves, and salt. Mix well and let the chicken marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  • In a separate mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, corn flour, and salt. Mix well.
  • Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
  • Coat the marinated chicken in the flour mixture, making sure it is evenly coated.
  • Carefully place the chicken in the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy, approximately 8-10 minutes.
  • Remove the chicken from the oil and place on a paper towel to drain any excess oil.
  • Serve hot and enjoy the spicy and crispy Chicken 555!
